If this is your first visit to our "site", you may be surprised to discover just how well-connected we are. From our Website you literally can access dozens of countries on all continents, in all corners of the globe.
The thirty-plus members of the Calgary Consular Corps represent countries from North, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and Asia. From our individual country pages on this Website, you will learn where you can apply for a visa, renew a passport, request assistance, or simply how you can learn more about the many countries that we represent. Moreover, from this Website, you can link to the Websites of our respective Embassies in Ottawa. You can also find out who is the correct person to call if you need more specific information.
If you are unfamiliar with Consular Representation outside of the National Capital, then you may be surprised to know that many of our Calgary Consular Corps Members represent countries that have maintained official presences in Alberta many years before Alberta even became a Province. Among these countries are the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway. What Consulates General and Honorary Consuls "do" varies from Mission to Mission. Some mainly focus on consular work, such as passports, visas, notarial services, reports of birth and death, and assistance to citizens in distress. Others mainly focus on promoting trade ties between their countries and this region of Canada. Still others are charged with all of the above, plus political, economic, press, educational and cultural affairs issues. In each case, it is best to consult the individual country pages within our Calgary Consular Corps Website, when you need information about one of the many countries, or about the individual services that are provided by these Missions.
Sincerely,
Mr. Thomas Huffaker
US Consul General
Dean, Calgary Consular Corps
